   I had my doubts at first, but it actually works great. It does take a couple days of "flybys" and quick landings on the railing, but after about 5 days have not had any pigeons on my balcony ... I would recommend it for anyone with pigeon balcony problems. Make sure it's in a good location so you get the full advantage of the coverage which is 3 feet above and below and 9 feet on either side. Also, the forward coverage is 50 feet.

   Pigeons and various other birds were constantly sitting on the telephone/cable line in front of my house, pooping on cars. I had to wash them every day. I placed the unit on top of my chimney facing the lines and so far, it's working. It does make a little noise that can be heard but it's nothing to write home about. Sometimes little sparrows will gather but when the sensor detects them, they move on. My neighbors and I are so impressed with the results that they are also buying a unit for their roof...

   I had bought this product over 2 years ago, after years of efforts to get rid of the pigeon issue. My first attempt to use this device I tried a setting of 25%, with no deterrent. But when I turned it up all the way, my pigeon issue was resolved. After trying spikes, reflective streamers and even an owl with motion activated flashing eyes, all failed to stop the pigeon invasion. The spikes did work only is the area footprint they were placed, but the pigeons just landed in the areas without these spikes.

   I bought this product to keep some swallows from building nests under the eaves near my patio. It works as designed: In front of the unit, the swallows have not built a single nest. Presumably they find the sound irritating enough to stay away. But be aware that there is a blind spot in this product! The swallows rather hilariously discovered that they can build their nest right on top, using the device as a convenient ledge, out of sight from the motion detector. Be aware of this possibility when you mount your device.

   I was very skeptical if this product was going to work because i read a lot of mixed reviews, as with all the other products of its category. Because it was cheaper, I figured I would try it out because the birds are really becoming a nuisance. I set it up and let it go on the continuous mode for about 2 days, I saw no difference in the birds behavior. Around the 4th or 5th day, not a bird in sight !!!! I couldn't be happier with the product. The birds are not pooping ALL OVER MY VEHICLES anymore. Well worth the money. Be patient because it will not work right away when it is plugged in. You have to adjust the frequency each day a very small amount to see which frequency works best.

   I originally bought for my patio deck. I was so pleased how it worked that I tried the Balcony Guard for my front yard because birds kept using my cars for target practice. I set the unit high enough so that it pointed towards the roof of my cars. It only took one day and the bird bombs were gone. Its been in place now for 1 week and still doing a great job. I understand how work being in the electronics field. Just didn't think it could work so fast. If I sit and observe, the birds actually fly around and avoid the area. It is as if they were being trained to go somewhere else. I am very happy with the operation of the Balcony Guard. Don't even mind changing batteries when it woks this well.

   I love this product. I have used it for the last 5 years I live in a condominium with an open 300 sq ft deck. When I first bought it it didn't seem effective at first (I bought it to deter pigeons who had made my deck unusable unless I spent a 1/2 day cleaning bird droppings). I noticed however that when the pigeons flew in front of it that they were affected. I started moving the device around, pointing it towards the areas where the birds were perched. Slowly, that bird would disappear - then I repointed the device to the next area. This took over a month of diligence (yes, I hated the pigeons that much). After I targeted the various points I just left the device pointed out into the fly space in front of my deck - no more birds!

   This product works great. I think I had about 100 birds flocking to my yard every evening (and it's a small yard) and now they are all gone! I have it set up with batteries on the motion activated setting. I know there are some reviews that speak of a noise audible to humans. This is true, when I walk by it, I can hear it let out a chirp. However, it is not a constant noise (as it only reacts to motion). You can also adjust the frequency of the product too, and the instructions tell you that some humans (and dogs) may be able to hear the sound at certain frequencies (that's why you can adjust it). My parents bought a couple for their back patio as well. They have them plugged in on continuous mode, and I have never heard any sound coming from them.

   Love this product and it WORKS!! I had read good reviews on this product and I was willing to try anything at this point. We were blessed with a mama dove that had babies in our lower rafters outside our side yard. After the baby birds left the nest they decided to stay with us in our back yard. Well, they made themselves at home in our backyard. We watched them for several weeks make themselves at home walking all around our yard that has pavers and a high end turf-mini putting green. We found poop all over and if that was not enough, they pecked at the turf, thinking there were seeds and worms underneath. That's when we decided we needed a bird deterrent before the turf was completely ruined. After 3 days the birds were gone, finding digs elsewhere! I also believe that it will keep the cat away from occasionally using our pavers for his dumping ground also.
