   My young malamute howled and cried in the crate when I'd leave, but that was manageable. But when she started destroying the crate door, had to do something. This device, I read, will deter barking, but also goes off (at a range I cannot hear) when there's too much noise, like say dog nails on metal crate door! :-) Within a day, she figured out she cannot make all that racket without this going off. She just doesn't like the noise. Show her I'm turning it on when leaving, and she's good every time! You do have to remove the battery to turn it off, there's no switch. You don't want to leave it on when you are just around the house, playing with your dog, and they might bark, or you might make some other loud noise. A switch for on/off would complete this, but this device saved us while on a trip with my dog, and for the price it was WELL worth it!

My pomeranian used to bark at the TV too.. now it's peaceful. I absolutely love this product! We tried a sonic egg before but they ignored that after about a week. I have 2 mixed boxers and the minute they start barking they set each other off and just keep going! the device emits the sound (which is hardly able to be heard from humans) and they are immediately distracted and stop. Of course I reward them when they stopped barking but I was amazed at how quickly they have learned from this thing! I totally recommend!

The poodle is nearly deaf due to age, but the other two like to let me know every squirrel and leaf that touches our lawn. Or every bell or sound they dont like on TV.
