   This tree climbing gear met all of my expectations. The construction materials where of good quality and they were very easy to assemble and use. I was a little nervous on my first climb but they did exactly what I expected and felt very confident while trimming my 30'+ Queen Palms. Side note: use a small chair on location and put the spikes on just before you climb (walking with the spikes on is awkward). I also used an extension ladder to make the long climbs easier and minimize the spike marks on the lower portions of the trees.

   Love these spurs ! I’ve climbed different trees , soft bark , thick bark , slick bark , it doesn’t matter the tree , these things bite in and stay !    I bought the kind with two spikes. Yes, these are more cheaper than most spikes out there, but they do work. The materials are somewhat budget, but they don't skimp on the quality of metal used. I used them to climb a pole in my yard and mounted a small solar panel to it (with the help of someone on the ground + a rope and pulley to lift my materials up). I like how they kind of look a little post-apocalyptic. They would be good for a bug-out bag. If you don't like the straps they send you, you can switch them out with others. What matters the most is the strength of the metal spikes. These are strong and sharp enough to penetrate into a pole and hold my weight (150lb).

   These spurs are awesome. They are rock solid. The noise from climbing isn't as noticeable as with my old spikes either, which is important as I use these primarily for hunting. I no longer climb trees or poles for a living, but I still climb regularly and the only upgrade I'd recommend I'd bigger pads.
