   Received in expected condition, promptly. The bag wasn’t as stiff as other reviewers noted, however, it did have a fairly freshly tanned smell. This is easily remedied if you’ve ever owned anything leather in your life, or you could just air it out for a day or two and let it resolve itself. This isn’t uncommon with real leather products. The more you use them the better they are imo.

   Excellent backpack, unique looks and genuine leather. As some say, the shoulder straps do feel a little thin even as compared to the roll straps but haven’t had any issues yet. Do recommend the leather softener/saddle soap as others have mentioned, with use it feels less stiff but has taken a few months of daily use to get there. There are “padded pockets” on the inside but it is NOT padded on the bottom which is what I would prefer for my laptop.

   When I opened the box, the rucksack was very well sealed in plastic and firmly in place. The buckles were wrapped in plastic as well to prevent them, I expect, from damaging the bag. The smell was normal for 'new leather', and not unpleasant to my sense of smell. The leather seems to be in very good condition and the rivets appear to be firmly in place. I am overall very pleased with this product. I have yet to carry a laptop or something equivalent with this, but should I have something change, I will add to the review.

   I just received two of these from India (via Amazon). I was skeptical at first of the price. Now that I have them, I can indeed vouch for the quality. They look amazing and smell great ( like leather. I'm guessing some of these reviewers don't know what treated leather smells like ). I'm giving one as a graduation gift, and selfishly got one for myself. I received them earlier than expected as well. You can tell that they are assembly line products as the two I got were almost identical (except for the random leather patterns), but the quality seems legit. For the money, these are a great value.

   We've had this bag for a few months and its an excellent product for the price. My wife loves it and has gotten compliments from day one. For those that think it is too stiff. The stiffness is a good thing, it implies sturdy quality leather that will stand up to years of use, it will soften up over time. It is a pack not a coat or purse. If it was made of soft purse or coat leather it would rip apart in short order. Believe me it is nothing like top grain cow hide, like the motorcycle saddle bags I have, nor does it need to be. The leather is a good balance of sturdy and supple built to last for years.

   This is a great bag and I get compliments on it wherever I go. The color is beautiful and distresses well, and the leather is nice and stiff which provides excellent support for my laptop. The shoulder straps are comfortable. There are a few issues: it needs to be broken in a bit and I had to add some extra hole punches to the straps in order to get it to close tightly. There are some inconsistencies in the leather in the shoulder straps and one has stretched out further than the other as I've used it - again, addressed with new hole punches. Also: this is more of a cosmetic issue than a functional one, but the top doesn't really roll up like is shown in the photo. It folds over more than it rolls. It still looks good, but if you are going for the rolled look you may be disappointed. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase.

   This is a well crafted bag for the price point. My main concern with backpacks is their lack of inner pockets and this bag has great organizational pouches that are insulated. Put a pair of raybans in one of the cushioned inner pockets because i forgot my case and they were well protected!
