It's not bright enough to read with, unless you're using an E-reader, but on low power it is nice lighting if your bedmate has fallen asleep and you want to finish a chapter.

   I have never seen a light like this before and it is fun to play with. The filament that glows hangs from the top of the lamp and has a magnetic bottom. You can set it to hang straight up and down or you can shake it and let it twist itself into a variety of shapes and poses. It's really cool to see.

The fact that the LED strip in there can be in multiple positions is fascinating, though I prefer it standing straight up using the magnet (and it's very easy to switch back and forth between those designs).
