My baby HATED bath time before we got this. He hated getting water in his face while rinsing the shampoo off him (wouldn't sit still enough for me to do it perfectly with a regular cup), and that caused him to start dreading baths and he'd scream the entire time and try to climb out of the tub.

My husband and I were skeptical that this product would actually work but it works FLAWLESSLY. He's 12 months old and I can easily place it on his head and hold it with one hand while pouring water with the other hand. No leaks! We've used it several times now and it's really helping to make bath time so much better.

Tip: The first couple of times we used it, I wore the visor myself while I was washing baby so he could get used to it and see that it was safe. Then I'd let him borrow my "hat" when it came time to rinse his hair.

This product is bloody brilliant. My almost 3 year old went from crying to acting like a possessed child from the exorcist whenever it was time to rinse his head from his very expensive tear free shampoo. I got this for him in fear that my neighbors were going to call CPS. So I used it although the words “rinse off the shampoo” set him off in a rampage. With one hand I managed to keep the hat on him and rinse his head while keeping him from flying out of the tub. I honestly think I grew a few extra arms. Not one drop of water got on his face! This is seriously the best thing since sliced bread.

Hopefully the next few times we use it he’ll realize his face isn’t actually getting wet and stop screaming before all the pets off themselves from the screaming.

I recommend this to everyone. Unless your kid loves water on his face then in that case lucky you

We have had this product for about two months, and it has worked great for our toddler and preschooler. Washing their hair used to be a constant fight, because they both hated to have water in their faces, ears, and eyes. We tried lots of different things, from having them simply look up, to using towels over their eyes and ears, to even giving them goggles to use during the bath. None of it worked all that well, so we decided to try this product. To our surprise and delight, it has worked great! Both kids tolerate it fairly well (sometimes they don't want to use it and still don't want their hair washed, but that's normal for kids). The only thing is that you have to press a little hard to get a good seal. So you either have to brace them with one hand, or have them brace yourselves so they don't tip over (not a big problem for us, but for a littler baby it might be).

I have always considered myself to be fairly skilled at washing my kids’ hair....until my 3rd child came along. She has ALWAYS screamed and thrashed when I tried to wash her hair, which made it impossible to do well. As a result, she learned to hate it more. Her fear and hatred of having any water in her eyes AND ears (I can deal with the eyes well enough if they sit still but not the ears with a regular cup) rubbed off on her older autistic brother. I tried the hats and visors but she would rip them off and a little water always seeped through or hit her ears. He also started crying during hair washing. I bought this device a few weeks ago and have done several bath times and each time keeps getting better. Now that they trust the device to keep the water out of their eyes and ears, they can sit still and not cry at all. This thing has saved my sanity. I’m so glad I found this in time for summer when they need daily baths.

Bath time had become such a chore, my daughter hated it when water/soap got in her eyes. We tried everything and I finally turned to amazon to see what products might be out. I found this rinser splashguard and we didn't turn back. She's 3 and this works perfectly. She helps hold it on her forehead and bathtime isn't miserable anymore! I was almost losing my sanity, so we were glad to find this item! I also use this on my one year old son. He has a larger head, but I'm able to hold this on his head one handed, and dump water with my other hand. Works well and he seems to not mind it. The item works by creating a seal between the splashguard and your little ones forehead. When you pour the water on their head the water escapes out the back area. We found it works best if you have your child tilt their head back. There's still potential for some water to sneak down to your childs face, but if they tilt their head back and/or help hold it flush to their forehead that drastically decreases the chance of water going in their face.

One of my twins started crying very time it came time to rinse his hair. For a while he would allow me to lay him across my lap with his head over the tub while I rinsed his hair out with cups of water. For some reason, he no longer liked that and getting him to lean his head back was not happening. He was pretty apprehensive about letting me put this on him but once I pointed got it on I was able to rinse his hair pretty well. After a few days of me pointing out that there was no water in his eyes after I took this "hat" off he became less apprehensive about letting me put it on. There's a little bit of conditioner left on the hair just above his hair when I'm done but that's no big deal to me since I usually apply a leave in conditioner to his hair after washing anyway. Contrary to other reviews, the person doesn't need to tilt their head back for this to work. My son refuses to sit down in the bath or tilt his head back and this works fine. I just position the splash gaurd so that the handle is just below his hairline and it works fine.

I make him look up and I just use a towel to take out the excess water from his hair so it doesnt drip. Best purchase ever

You guys!!! This thing works! My kid at 12 months really hated getting her hair rinsed. She wouldnt let us tip her head back, so water would just be streaming down her face and into her eyes. Screaming and crying always ensued. It was making bathtime miserable. Enter this ingenious device. I took the advice of another reviewer (great tip!) who wore it as a hat during the kiddos bath to help with any uncertainty/fear. It took a few baths, but before long she was using it when we rinsed her head without complaint. No more water pouring down her face... and thus no more tears! We did cut the strap off it. Not sure if that would be helpful for a bigger kid, but on my now 15-month old, it was just always in the way. We do sort of hold it on her head on the sides to make sure the little rubber trough is making contact all around her forehead when we rinse her hair (and so she cant just rip it off). Now my little one reminds us anytime we are bathing her about the hat. Sometimes insistently. She especially loves when my husband or I have it on before she gets to wear it. No regrets, would buy 100x over.

I tried several things to keep the water out of my son's eyes (he is 22 months old) and nothing worked. He started to hate baths and cried every time he felt water on his head. He refused to tilt his head up so the water would run down the back of his head and instead looked down quickly whenever he felt water, resulting in water in the eyes every time. When I first tried this visor he still cried and moved his head and water still got in his eyes but it was better. I have used it for several weeks now and finally, last night, he seemed to get it. He finally let me use it without crying or suddenly moving his head and presto! No water in the eyes at all, either when I got his head wet or when I rinsed off the soap. He looked surprised about this lack of water in the eyes and happily played in the tub while I got his brother clean. It takes patience, especially the first few times when your kid moves his head suddenly so water gets in his eyes anyway, but eventually it works. Highly recommended! Update: my son is 4 years old now and we still use this for every bath. He hates getting water in his eyes - thankfully this keeps the crying to a minimum. Still recommended!
