My 3.5 year old daughter absolutely HATED washing her hair. She has long, thick, and curly hair so we have always struggled with anything regarding her hair. She fought and screamed bloody murder so loud I actually thought my neighbors might call cps. It was so bad that I think it really put a strain on our relationship with both of us feeling dread the entire day when we would be washing her hair that night.

Like many reviews I read on this product, it took a while for us to get the hang of it and her pre bath anxiety to lessen, but we remind her how well it works and the push back is almost non existent now. Bath time is a breeze and its all because of this product!

When we first bought this thing I was very doubtful. I was one of those people that thought that it was too good to be true. Turns out that after about two years we washed my daughter's hair without the typical screaming, crying, fighting and yanking know as bath time. We did begin the process by letting her know she gets to wear a crown. After that it was no problem. We were able to give her her bath even put conditioner in her hair and she still didn't cry and it kept the water out of her eyes. At first my wife and I did it together, one of us held it and the other one washed the hair. It takes a little maneuvering to do it by yourself but it can be done. Excellent product!

This thing changed our lives! I was skeptical because my 2.5 year-old daughter absolutely HATED rinsing her hair in the bath (epic, DEFCON 1 tantrum-level hate), but this thing works like a charm. She went from being scared of it to just barely tolerating it to now accepting it after we used this for a couple of weeks. Her head is a little small for age (25th percentile or so), but this fits flush against her forehead and really does keep all the water out of her face. I don't even have to hold it against her head. I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and made sure to remove it from front to back when I was done to avoid any water that had collected in the lip from falling back into her face. No more tears!

We got this in January of 2018 and we still use it. Why review now? I was actually looking it up to recommend to a parent (And this is like maybe the eighth time I’ve recommended it to someone over the years) and saw a couple of bad reviews.

My son is on the spectrum and he cannot stand water on his face. This saved my sanity. It took a couple of trust runs for him to understand how it worked but hair washing has been amazing the last three years (once I get him IN the tub - but that is another issue)

Mold - we have seen NONE

We just rinse and leave on sink to dry. Once dry, I put it up on a shelf over the door. We do not leave in tub area because the house is 100 years old and we do have that typical mold in the shower grout battle that we fight.

My daughters dreaded the water in their eyes at shampoo time. This works. Yes, you must have them hold it (the photo of the water freely pouring on a little girl's head is not realistic), and sometimes they do not hold it tightly against their head and water gets onto their face. Just tell your child to keep her eyes shut, hold the hat tightly (you place it on her head, and she holds it there) and it totally keeps the water out of her eyes. If she gets lazy (my daughters sometimes did when we first got this), they learn quickly to hold still and hold the hat tightly so it does not slip, while you later up and rinse their hair.

Also, make sure, when you take it off, slip it off, up, over their head, behind their head, not in front of it so you don't dump the remaining water into their eyes.

This thing is awesome. My toddler would cry every night when wed start washing her hair and no matter how careful we were to keep soapy water out of her face, it would get there. Shed get scared and look down, making things worse, it sucked. We tried another product that you had to strap to her head and we could rarely get her to wear it for long enough to rinse her hair, and on the rare occasion we could, it still dribbled water in her face. We have to after a week. THIS product is a great design. It has a strap but you dont have to use it. The soft rubber that presses up against the forehead channels the water back so nothing is spilling into or in front of her face, so shes totally comfortable. We just hold it against her head with one hand and pour water with the other. Great product!

I was so happy that this product works. My 20 month old used to scream when the water would get in her eyes, which it always would no matter what I tried (including a molded rinser cup) because she won't tilt her head back. Water does NOT get through this thing to their faces!

My only challenge now is this: the 1st time I used it she was very happy to put it on and was even wearing it around the house like a hat. But the 2nd time, she didn't want to put it on, so it was more like trying to get a collar on a cat. Hopefully she'll get used to it and will be ok having it on.

Update: we stopped trying to get her to tilt her head back at all because she likes to tuck her head down instead. So we don't use this. But it does work as advertised!

Update 1 year later: She loves this thing and I never rinse her hair without it!

My baby HATED bath time before we got this. He hated getting water in his face while rinsing the shampoo off him (wouldn't sit still enough for me to do it perfectly with a regular cup), and that caused him to start dreading baths and he'd scream the entire time and try to climb out of the tub. My husband and I were skeptical that this product would actually work but it works FLAWLESSLY. He's 12 months old and I can easily place it on his head and hold it with one hand while pouring water with the other hand. No leaks! We've used it several times now and it's really helping to make bath time so much better. Tip: The first couple of times we used it, I wore the visor myself while I was washing baby so he could get used to it and see that it was safe. Then I'd let him borrow my "hat" when it came time to rinse his hair.
