Exactly as described. Takes a little getting used to, but works just fine. If you start small and don’t try to split whole chunks of hardwood in one shot, you’ll be good. This is 4-5 pieces of split wood. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out my approach... getting the splitter stuck and unstuck time and again... but, once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. This stack took about 20 minutes (on top of the 20 minute orientation period). Bottom line: I’m happy with this, glad I bought the big (42mm) one, and would buy again.
