   Our daughter was gifted another set of small dolls that are characters from a particular brand that we avoid. Not wanting to deny her a seeet gift, but also not wanting her to play with what she had been given, I was determined to find another set of small soft baby dolls that were a better fit for our family. These are the ones that we decided on, and I'm so pleased! This little set of babies are the ones that my daughter now enjoys playing with the most. She loves sleeping bags, and loves that these little girls have their very own sleeping bag! They are the right size for her to be able to scoop all up into her arms and carry from place to place. She also has several little “lovey” blankets from kickee-pants that she enjoys using as blankies for these dolls, and love to wrap them up and carry them around.

   These are so stinkin' cute. We gifted this to our 9 month old for Christmas thinking she wouldn't really use them for several months, but she surprisingly already loves them. She lights up when you hand one to her and hugs and kisses them. They are exactly the right size for an older baby or younger toddler. They are so soft and sweet, she's been sleeping with one in bed with her. I love that they are diverse as we are a mixed family, my daughter is white and I am Hispanic. It's wonderful I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for my daughter to have a variety of dolls with different skin tones. My toddler actively plays with them more than the baby for now, he gets such a kick out of taking their cute little sleep sacks off and switching them around. These are a great value IMO but more than anything I am just so endeared by how adorable they are. A great option for a little one before you know what type of baby doll they would like best or whether they are old enough to care for one properly.

   I know these are “just baby dolls”, but I'm thrilled with them and what they represent for my family. The dolls themselves are super cute and great quality. I looked for something similar to this and only found one other such product for infants and toddlers. That, alone, is crazy to me! Who knew it would STILL be so hard to find toys that show a range of skin tones. It's just another example of my white privilege, I guess. I never had to search to find dolls that looked like me. Ultimately, my husband and I went with this set because it allows my daughter to learn to take off and put on the babies' clothes. Although these are for little kids (and we probably wont use them to get into deep discussions about race), I am glad to be able to show my daughter that all skin tones are beautiful. It's just one tiiiiny step in the right direction, but I want to be a good ancestor, and I'm thankful to have these dolls to help me teach my baby girl. Thanks, Creative Minds for offering a product that is greatly needed!
