I wouldn't say that I get a great workout...but I wasn't expecting it to. It's super easy to use, and it does get my heartrate up a bit. The faster you twist, the more of a "workout" you will get. The platform is large enough for both feet to be comfortably, and it's sturdy enough to support someone who is larger. I will say the little nubs on the platform do start to hurt bare feet after a little while...but with socks or shoes, they're not noticeable.
