The main compartment is quite large, but there are several pockets inside and outside to keep smaller items.    Actually I'm not the mother. I bought this for my niece's baby shower. I wish they had these backpack diaper bags when my kids were born. I love this bag and actually went back on your site to see if you made regular backpacks that I could use for traveling. (Might be an additional product line you might want to add hint, hint.) The bag seriously looks and feels a lot like a Coach bag but without the heavy weight of leather. I would definitely recommend this bag.

   This is my second satchel. My first one broke at the top handle. That was disappointing. But I had it for several years and really liked the first one. One big improvement on the new satchel is the front center strap can now be opened with a push-button clip instead of having to unbuckle. I really like this feature.
