The heat opens the scales of the hair and the treatment penetrates deeper and the benefits are visible more quickly. There are two speeds, I use speed 2 for 10 minutes and 5 minutes in speed 1.    I bought this cap to be able to keep the hair mask on for longer. In winter, especially when I wear the masks that are applied after shampooing, my head freezes and my sinusitis starts automatically. With this hat, I solved it! Of course you have to be seated because you are plugged into the electrical outlet, but that's not a disadvantage in my opinion. When I feel it's too hot, I'll turn it off for a minute and then turn it back on. Results like at the hairdresser and no headaches or sinusitis.

   I have never owned a heat cap before. I bought this product because I felt like my hair conditioning routine could use some help. This cap gets very hot and it worked very well. It has two settings, one is high and the other is medium heat. It comes with a reusable shower cap, which you would need to put on your hair first before using the heat cap. This helps to product the heat cap from getting messy or wet with hair product.I enjoyed using this product and my hair felt very nourished after using it. The only thing I can say is the part where the heat cap connects to the power chord doesn't really get hot, I guess for safety reasons. I just turn the cap a bit to move the heat around. It feels and works like a quality product.

   To be clear this is an electric heat cap and does not produce steam. It has 2 heat settings "low/high". Unfortunately I don't see a range of temperatures for either setting. I used it for the first time today and I really like it. It gives even heat and I don't have to worry about reheating as with the microwaveable version. I considered getting a microwaveable heat cap initially but thought against it because of the probable reheating needed. I used the low setting for about an hour with my deep conditioner and it worked great for me. The heat cap came with a shower cap to use with it. It has a draw string at the back to adjust the size to your liking. The power cord also seems to be long enough to allow you to move around a little while using the heat cap. I would recommend this heat cap to anyone wanting to be able to apply heat to their deep conditioner treatment or their hot oil treatments.

   It's actually a good product for its cost, easy to clean and nice to look at. It keeps the heat for a short time if disconnected from the power supply but the cable is long enough. In the package there was also a simple matching cap, which I use under my helmet because it is faster to clean.
