This a great medium-sized bag--large enough to fit all of my files, a few books, maybe a small notebook computer in the main compartment, keys, wallet and phone in the front zip pocket and other paraphernalia in the middle pocket. l don't really use the side pockets; too much trouble to dig small items out of the bottom, and I don't really have too many larger items that would fit (and that I wouldn't mind being seen, ha, ha!) but I can see that other people might find them to be handy for some things...

   I’ve used this backpack for almost a year now. I purchased it to replace a leather backpack that had been used until it died and couldn’t be repaired again. When I first received it, I hated it because it was stiff and so new. But after using it, the leather has softened quite a bit and has molded to wear more comfortably. The color is a beautiful dark cognac color and it has so many compartments to keep my things organized. Side pockets were too small for a water bottle, but they too have stretched to hold one. I stretched the leather by putting items that fit tightly and kept increasing in size so that it now holds a water bottle! Frye makes great products and this no exception. I no longer miss my first unbranded leather backpack and don’t know how I lived without the compartments! It’s also great to travel with and has been on 3 trips since I got it.
