The backpack...More
The backpack looks nice in person. Although the structure of it does not seem quite the same as online, it does stay flat and compact even when it is filled. I hate how most backpacks tend to look bulky and round when they have more than just a binder in it, but this doesn't do that. The shape stays nice and flat whether it is filled partially or completely.
Another aspect is the weight and capacity. Here's are my essentials for school: at LEAST 2 water bottles, pens/pencils, my thermos for coffee (which tends to add a lot of bulk and weight to my backpacks but it never leaks so it's worth it), a binder (which fills itself throughout the year), a calculator, a notebook, and my laptop+laptop chord when needed. In the photos I show it fit THREE water bottles, a thermos, 15.6 inch laptop and chord, 1.5 inch binder, and a notebook easily.
The placement of the pockets and features is genius. (some of them are not visible in photos so I'll explain) 1.There is an almost hidden zipper pocket on the front. It is super deep but flat so you could perhaps keep a smaller notebook in there. 2. On each side there are hidden slots where you can keep waterbottles, umbrellas, etc. They can be concealed under the two flaps on each side and won't stick out of the side of the backpack which I LOVE. I have always avoided putting drinks in the little mesh side pockets that most backpacks have. 3. On the back part, there is an interesting foam cushion that has a visible geometric pattern, and a horizontal strap to slip over suitcase handles. There is also a small zipper pocket on the left and on the opposite side a USB port. On the straps of the backpack there is also little clips where you can attach the strap to keep them from hanging down. 4. On the inside, there is a fabric loop that the inner USB chord feeds through, and a pocket on the right where it attaches to the outer USB port, which has a zipper so you could keep a power bank and the chord in concealment there. There is a pouch on the inner top that also has a small zipper pocket attached, and horizontal pen slots on the outside. Underneath that is two more pouches, which can be used for various things. On either side is a velcro attachment with a button as well to keep the backpack from falling open since it CAN open all the way down. Last but not least is the laptop pocket, which surprisingly holds even my large 15.6 inch laptop and the backpack still closes fine.
As far as the smaller stuff goes, there are two pockets, one on each side for drinks or water bottles. They can fit most bottles without a problem, but some of the bulkier 20oz soda bottles will be snug. There is a compartment on the outside that I keep my scientific calculator in, and a smaller pocket that will fit chapstick, a deck of cards, and maybe one other travel size item like lotion or hand sanitizer at the same time. On the inside there is a compartment with a flap that will fit a laptop charger, and there are some pockets for pencils, a hand pencil sharpener, and small supplies like that.
What I like most about the bag is it's slim design. I don't feel like I'm lugging around a bulky backpack full of rocks. It's very comfortable with excellent support. As of now I've only had the bag for maybe a week, so I don't know if it will last long, but I expect it to because I'm careful with it and it seems like it's a good quality backpack. I would absolutely buy this backpack again.
