He keeps changing his mind on which color is best, because they all look cool. The texture is nice, and it can sit on the base on its charger, so I really don't know about the battery life, as he doesn't let it die.

My son is terrified of the dark so we have it set pretty bright, and it won't last through the night without being plugged in, so take that into consideration if you plan on not having it be plugged in all night.

   This is so much better than I expected it to be when I bought it. When it comes out of the box, it's not particiularly attractive, nor are the colors. But that's because it's not lit up. But as soon as you plug it in, that all changes. The array of colors and tones is extensive and quite beautiful -- much prettier than any of the photos in the listings or in the reviews. We set it to change colors very gradually, but there are a number of other settings that can be used. My nephew loves it.

   My toddler loves it. He's dropped it and tossed it and it's not broken, so I would consider it sturdy enough for mild play. The remote works, it dims and brightens, it's plenty bright enough to see the colours even with the lights on and not so bright in the dark that it blinds you. Remote works great. It came with a charger USB cable not not the wall adapter. The stand it comes with is 3 pieces with peg inserts to connect, it's not a snug fit so if you mess with it or pick it up it falls back into 3 pieces.

   I love this thing! For the price and quality you just cannot go wrong with this moon lamp. I love the fact that you can dim the light, change to many different colors (and ones that don't make me gag), it has fading mode, strobe mode, smooth, and flash. Don't be confused - it isn't flashy strobe effects, it is how the colors change if you want a changing colors setting. You can leave it on one color the entire time if you want to. So you can have gentle and calm lighting when you want it on. It also is cool how it stays on all night.
