I didn't want to screw anything into the trees. These straps are just what I needed. Not only do they not harm the tree, they are so simple to use. The end with the metal ring slips through a loop in the other end of the strap. Then you just wrap them around the tree until you have the ring in the desired position. They can stay in the tree when the hammock gets taken down in bad weather. I feel very confident that these straps make the hammock secure.

I would suggest only leaving this hammock on your stand when using to prevent fading. I love the soft, vibrant colored fabric. It is very easy to spend an afternoon under my crape myrtles reading a book in this cozy hammock. The only thing I do for a little extra comfort is add a rolled towel under my neck.
