I was one of those people who found and bought the knockoff version of this lamp on Amazon, but was very unhappy when I got the little plastic version. So I searched for the real thing and got one from RustyLights. I love it...it's what I wanted in the first place. It looks great with dimmable "3D Fireworks Decorative Light Bulb" I found on Amazon...and if you dial back the dimmer enough, it will flash which adds to the effect.

First thing... I really like this lamp. It's not too big and it's not too small.

Two things though... 1. It's completely plastic. The one in the picture looks to be metal. 2. The main light bulb is way too bright. I had an old can of vehicle spray tint in my garage. I sprayed it on the light bulb to dim it down at bit.

My suggestion for the company is to put a dimmer on it instead of a simple on/off switch.

Overall though, it's a pretty cool lamp.

When I found Lights steampunk rocket lamps I *had* to have one. I worked with Steve to customize mine so the main lamp would be on a shorter upright support to make it slightly more compact - and he made it happen. The build quality is great, and I'm really happy with all of the detailing - especially the 'gear' base and textures of the fixtures. Another functional surprise I found was the that the lights are controlled separately. The flickering flame lights are controlled by a small rubberized toggle switch (which I LOVE) while the big bulb is controlled through a rheostat knob. This is great for a couple reasons. 1) If you don't want the flicker bulbs on, they don't need to be and 2) with the knob you can control the brightness of the big Edison-style bulb to suit your mood or lighting needs - dim or bright!
